Enrolment

We are pleased to wel­come new stu­dents and their fam­i­lies to ASSOA. Our team of staff look for­ward to being a pos­i­tive part of your child’s learn­ing journey.

All new stu­dents and their fam­i­lies are invit­ed to our school for an enrol­ment inter­view pri­or to com­mence­ment where you will meet our staff, tour the school and learn more about our unique learn­ing environment.

In order to make the enrol­ment process sim­ple for you, please either com­plete the online enrol­ment form or com­plete the PDF form here and email it to assoa@​assoa.​nt.​edu.​au. Please be aware that you will be required to present and sign all enrol­ment forms on your first vis­it to our school.

In addi­tion to your enrol­ment forms you will also be required to present the fol­low­ing documentation:

  • A copy of the student’s Birth Cer­tifi­cate or Proof of Aus­tralian Cit­i­zen­ship or if the stu­dent is not an Aus­tralian cit­i­zen, a copy of their Visa and Passport
  • A copy of the student’s med­ical records – eg immunisation
  • A copy of the student’s file from pre­vi­ous school (if trans­fer­ring from inter­state or anoth­er school)
  • A copy of the student’s most recent school report (if trans­fer­ring from inter­state or anoth­er school)
  • Con­tact details of a per­son from the student’s pre­vi­ous school for addi­tion­al infor­ma­tion (if trans­fer­ring from inter­state or anoth­er school)

Once your doc­u­men­ta­tion is received one of our team will con­tact you to make an appoint­ment to meet our Prin­ci­pal and com­plete the enrol­ment process.

Enrol­ment eligibility

Loca­tion

Geo­graph­i­cal­ly iso­lat­ed stu­dents who live in the south­ern half of the NT, or just over the NT bor­der in QLD, SA, or WA, are eli­gi­ble to enrol with us.

NT res­i­dents who are trav­el­ling inter­state or over­seas are also eli­gi­ble to enrol with us.

Inter­na­tion­al stu­dents can also enrol with us via NT Gov­ern­ment Inter­na­tion­al Edu­ca­tion. Inter­na­tion­al stu­dent fees may apply.

Age of entry policy

Chil­dren turn­ing four on or before June 30 are eli­gi­ble to enrol in the reg­u­lar preschool pro­gram at the com­mence­ment of the school year. Chil­dren turn­ing four after June 30 are eli­gi­ble to enrol in the preschool pro­gram after their birth­day, if places are avail­able and with the under­stand­ing that the child may need to access more than 12 months of preschool. Enrol­ments of chil­dren turn­ing four after June 30 will be nego­ti­at­ed on a case by case basis with­in the scope of the DoE Age of Entry Policy.

Chil­dren turn­ing five on or before June 30 are eli­gi­ble to enrol in a Tran­si­tion pro­gram at the com­mence­ment of the school year. Chil­dren who turn five after June 30 are eli­gi­ble to enrol in a Tran­si­tion pro­gram from the com­mence­ment of the fol­low­ing school year.

School of the Air requires proof of date of birth and a copy of a student’s Medicare details on enrolment.
